YOGABEYOND® 40hr Certified CPD Yoga Training, with Chris Croft
Adjusting or assisting a student should never be about forcing or cranking them into a pose. An effective yoga adjustment communicates the dynamic energetic component of a pose through intuitive touch, helping awareness travel through the body and allowing the student to overcome mental and physical ‘knots’. Giving intelligent and dynamic yoga adjustments is an ‘art’ which requires confidence, subtlety and an understanding of the mechanics of the body. Receiving an adjustment is just as important, as it teaches us trust, develops bodily awareness and requires both surrender and the confidence to say “NO”.
Please Note: Each day can be attended as a stand-alone 1-day workshop or as part of the accredited YOGABEYOND® 40hr Adjusting Yoga Poses CPD Training.

A truly intelligent assist/adjustment requires a dynamic understanding of pose alignment as an expression of the body-breath relationship. By exploring and understanding the subtle internal movements of the breath, and its inseparable relationship to external form patterns, we develop a dynamic toolkit of skills we refer to as Dynamic Alignment.
Rather than a rigid checklist of external do’s and don’t, Dynamic Alignment is a set of alignment principles that are internally felt and individually adaptive. Rather than regurgitating a generic verbal cue, or giving every student the same adjustment for a pose, Dynamic Alignment principles enable you to give each individual student what they actually need.
The result is that, as a teacher, you can teach the student, not the pose!
Historically I have been invited, looked at and started applications for yoga teaching courses but something stopped me from pressing that final button. I had participated in a few workshops with both Y&C and had really enjoyed the sessions, so interesting, the theory and practical application... At one point I was participating in another course, which was so naff that I needed some guidance and went along to Yulia's workshop and kept thinking ‘this is really the path’. You are exactly where you need to be.

"Chris has real insight into the mechanics of movement in the body. His teaching is clear and intelligent. I learned a lot in this one session which will impact my practice for ever. Chris’ sense of humour combined with his knowledge makes for a very dynamic learning experience. I would thoroughly recommend this course"
— Cait
"You gave a whole new dimension to every pose that we looked at and I've come away with a completely new attitude to my own practise that I'm excited to explore. Having been traditionally Ashtanga trained in India I was definitely stuck within the rigidity of the "rules" and it's incredibly refreshing to look beyond the rules, it's completely changed Yoga for me - in the most delicious way!! You're a truly inspiring instructor"
— Kelly
"A huge thank you for your guidance and sharing your incredible knowledge in such an open and engaging way during the course. It was truly eye-opening and really reinstated confidence that has been lost or confused on my teaching journey. Not only did I gain tips and tools to integrate into a class space but it also re-inspired my own personal practice and reminded me of why I wanted to train in the first place, to teach sure, but most of all to learn. What a wonderful thing to have discovered Yoga Beyond"
